Danny Benson
Danny, a pilot and native Georgian, has spent the last 40 years of his life in Clayton, where he developed the Big Creek Flying Ranch fly-in community. He has served as the general contractor for dozens of houses during his time in Rabun County but has also started, operated, and sold a variety of successful small businesses.
Including those in the aviation, food processing, and health and wellness fields.
Despite many successful ventures, Danny never strayed from building and land development. Those who know him well will be quick to tell you that despite his varied talents, he is most comfortable behind the controls of a piece of heavy equipment, moving dirt.
Danny enjoys traveling, aviation, and sailing and has spent time volunteering on the Rabun County Tourism Board, Downtown Development Authority, animal shelter, and food bank in Rabun County.
Sara Silvio Benson
Sara Silvio Benson, an Industrial Engineer, was introduced to Rabun County when her company was hired to conduct facility evaluations for multiple food banks that needed renovation. One of the food banks she surveyed was the Rabun County Food Bank, and that is where she met Danny.
In addition to her role at Mount Development, Sara serves as President of Constructive Ingenuity, a Project Management firm she founded 16 years ago. Under Sara’s guidance, Constructive Ingenuity has grown to a dozen engineers and construction professionals, managing countless projects of various scales. These include a $50 million project for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and several large expansions for Kubota USA.
Sara enjoys mentoring women early in their construction careers. Outside of work, she is a traveler who loves to experience new things, relax, or learn. She and her husband enjoy sailing and traveling to the ocean, and Alaska. Sara also enjoys red wine and loves large dogs, specifically German shepherds.
